นักศึกษาสาขาเทคโนโลยีวัสดุและบรรจุภัณฑ์ คณะอุตสาหกรรมเกษตร ได้รับรางวัล WorldStar Student Awards 2016 จาก World Packaging Organisation (WPO) โดยจัดการประกวดที่ประเทศแอฟริกาใต้ นายพฤฒิพงศ์ หนูฤทธ์ ได้รับรางวัล WorldStar Student awards 2016 ประเภท Certificates of Recognition จาก World Packaging Organisation (WPO) ได้ตัดสินผลการประกวดไปเมื่อวันที่ 10 มกราคม 2560 ที่ผ่านมา โดยจัดการประกวดที่ประเทศแอฟริกาใต้ ในการประกวดครั้งนี้นายพฤฒิพงศ์ หนูฤทธ์ เป็น 1 ใน 5 คนของนักศึกษาไทยที่ได้รับรางวัล โดยมี ดร. ศุภชัย ภิสัชเพ็ญ และอาจารย์สมพร นิลมณี เป็นอาจารย์ที่ปรึกษาของการประกวดบรรจุภัณฑ์ปัจจุบันนายพฤฒิพงศ์ หนูฤทธ์ เป็นศิษย์เก่าสาขาวิชาเทคโนโลยีวัสดุและบรรจุภัณฑ์ ภาควิชาเทคโนโลยีวัสดุภัณฑ์ คณะอุตสาหกรรมเกษตร ทำงานที่บริษัทไบโอแลป จำกัด ตำแหน่ง QCPD (Quality Control Packaging Design) จังหวัดสมุทรปราการ ดร. ศุภชัย ภิสัชเพ็ญ ซึ่งเป็นอาจารย์ที่ปรึกษาของนักศึกษาและหัวหน้าภาควิชาเทคโนโลยีวัสดุภัณฑ์ ได้กล่าวว่า การประกวดการออกแบบผลิตภัณฑ์และบรรจุภัณฑ์ในครั้งนี้ ผ่านการคัดเลือกจากเวทีระดับโลกโดยมีนักศึกษาทั่วโลกส่งเข้าประกวดชิงรางวัล โดยปีนี้ได้จัดที่ประเทศแอฟริกาใต้ อาจารย์สมพร นิลมณี ได้กล่าวเพิ่มเติมอีกว่า ก่อนที่ได้รับสิทธิประกวด WorldStar Student awards 2016 นั้น นายพฤฒิพงศ์ หนูฤทธ์ ได้รับรางวัลการออกแบบ barcode บนบรรจุภัณฑ์จาก GS1 Thailand สถาบันรหัสสากล สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย ในการประกวดบรรจุภัณฑ์ไทยประจำปี 2558 (ThaiStar Packaging Awards 2015) นอกจากนี้ได้รับรางวัล AsiaStar 2015 Award for Packaging Excellence ซึ่งจัดการประกวดขึ้นที่เมือง อิสตันบูล ประเทศตุรกี จากผลงานออกแบบบรรจุภัณฑ์ของนายพฤฒิพงศ์ หนูฤทธ์ เพื่อการจำหน่ายที่ได้รับ 3 รางวัล มีแนวคิดในการออกและผลงานดังนี้ 

Thai Chaolay pants are recognized unique souvenir from Thailand. They make great traveler’s pants and are also comfortable pants for work outs. Chinese people believe that Arowana fish is representative of unlimited wealth. The design of the pant package mimics the Arowana characters in order to reflect wealth and good luck.

Thai Chaolay pants package is aimed to use two colors as green and orange at different tones, allowing the identity and colors to be the highlight of each package. Preference of font character can show two principal display panels (PDP) in Thai and English languages under unity of product and easy to read. According to barcode design concept, it seems like the shape of pants with product brand and applies the 13 digits by the standard organization GS1. Product information on each panel can communicate to consumer for understanding the product such as pant information, number of pant, how to wear, figure of pant in front and back side and contact address. This concept can be shown in a configuration of a pair of pants packages which are vertically aligned in mouth to mount of fish in contact. The dimension of the package is designed
